The shows take place on the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of the first full week of February (see the calendar for exact dates each year). The Thursday and Friday shows start at 8:00 pm, while there are two shows on Saturday, at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm. The call for the cast is 2 hours before the show (so 6:00 pm on Thursday and Friday, noon on Saturday) and 1 hour for the crew.
Shows take place in the Humanities Theatre in Hagey Hall. There will be other specified rooms in Hagey Hall available for studying and resting when you are not on stage. You must be in one of those rooms when you are not on stage so that our runners will know where to find you to call you for your next scene.
Yes, attendance at the shows is mandatory.
If you can't make it to all of the shows, then you will probably not be able to take part in any of the onstage aspects of FASS.
You should bring water. You also need to bring some makeup equipment, namely eye-liner and a washcloth. Since you will be moving around a lot in an enclosed area, please take care of your hygiene (showering, deodorant) for the comfort of everyone in the company.
Previously known as the Friday late night show, the Friday show is when lots of previous members of FASS come to see the show. They participate in the show a bit more, with heckling, jokes, and lots more laughter. And occasionally there are special Friday gags in the show. If you want to add a gag to the Friday show, you must clear it with the Stage Manager! The Stage Manager will tell everyone affected by the change (actors on stage, relevant tech crew).
After the show each night there will be a company party; see the announcements page for more information or contact the Vice. After the show on Saturday, we will have Strike, at which time we will dismantle and remove everything FASS brought into the theatre; participation in Strike is mandatory. The Saturday night party will only start after Strike is complete: the more people helping at Strike, the faster we can get to partying!
After the shows are completed, we will be producing DVDs and showbooks, opening applications for committee positions, hosting the Annual General Meeting, and writing next year's script.
